Jammu, March 17 -- In a significant political development, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has granted recognition to the Justice and Development Front (JDF J&K), a political organisation formed by former leaders of the banned Jamaat-e-Islami.
While reiterating its commitment to carrying out political and social activities within the framework of the Indian Constitution, the JDF-unlike the banned Jamaat-e-Islami-has reportedly denied any role for Kashmiris in resolving the Kashmir issue, stating that it should be settled solely between India and Pakistan.
