Srinagar, Oct. 31 -- Declaring that Jammu and Kashmir's eight-year journey as a Union Territory stands marked by development, peace and progress, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday flagged off the 'Run for Unity' at here and administered the 'Unity Pledge' to participants.
According to the details participants reaffirmed their commitment to national unity, integrity and security, as the event marked Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, LG Sinha said, "National Unity Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm across the country and the occasion is also being observed across all districts of Jammu and Kashmir."
