Katra, Aug. 27 -- Terming the Katra landslide incident as "very unfortunate" that left many people dead, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that families of the deceased persons will be provided Rs 9 lakh as compensation.
Talking to the reporters here LG Sinha said, "According to the Shrine Board policy, Rs 5 lakhs are given, and the Disaster Management will also provide Rs 4 lakh to the families of the deceased.
I have spoken with the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. The administration is fully engaged in relief and rescue operations with utmost promptness."
