Jammu, Oct. 3 -- The agitating groups in Ladakh on Thursday rejected the magisterial inquiry announced by the Union Territory administration into the September 24 violence in Leh that claimed four lives. They reiterated their demand for a judicial probe to be conducted by a retired Supreme Court judge.

The Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA), a powerful and influential religious body in the region, announced four preconditions for resuming dialogue with the Union Government.

Addressing media persons after a meeting of the LBA Apex Body, its president Chering Dorjay Lakrook-who is also co-chairperson of the Leh Apex Body (LAB)-said the LBA was ready to resume talks with the Centre, but only if these four demands were accepted.
