KULGAM, April 15 -- In continuation of its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Kulgam police has achieved significant success by apprehending 10 drug peddlers, including 2 in backward linkage, in multiple operations across the district. Additionally, illegal poppy cultivation has been detected and busted.
During routine naka checking at Khudwani on NHW-44, an auto load carrier bearing registration No. JK18E-0744 was intercepted. During search, 5.16 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from the dashboard.
The driver, Fayaz Ahmad Dar S/O Mohd Shafi Dar R/O Bat Tachloo, was arrested and FIR No. 32/2026 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act registered.
