JAMMU, July 15 -- Continuing its sustained crackdown against bovine smuggling under Operation Kamdhenu, Jammu (Rural) Police foiled a bovine smuggling attempt during the intervening night and rescued 24 bovine animals at Ban Toll Plaza falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Nagrota.
During naka checking at Ban Toll Plaza, a police party intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK02DG-1123. On inspection, the vehicle was found carrying 24 bovine animals that were being transported in a cruel and inhumane manner without obtaining the requisite permission from the competent authority.
