Jammu, Sept. 15 -- Taking note of the complexity and voluminous record in the Channi Himmat firing case, the Court of 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Anoop Kumar Sharma has directed the Director Prosecution, J&K, to either personally argue the matter on charge or depute a competent Senior Public Prosecutor.
The case relates to an August 21, 2025 firing incident at a house in Channi Himmat where, according to the prosecution case recorded in the order, an alleged brothel was being run and one of the women who suffered gunshot injuries subsequently died. The incident was initially projected as a road traffic accident before investigation was transferred to the Special Crime Wing of Crime Branch Jammu.
