Srinagar, May 16 -- The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has revised the pecuniary limits of jurisdiction for Civil Judges (Junior Division) and Civil Judges (Senior Division) across the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh.
According to a notification issued by the Office of the Registrar General, Srinagar, under Section 21 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Courts Act, 1977, all Civil Judges (Senior Division) have been empowered to hear civil suits valued up to Rs 20 lakh within their territorial jurisdiction.
Similarly, Civil Judges (Junior Division) have been authorized to hear civil suits valued up to Rs 5 lakh within their respective local limits.
