JAMMU, Aug. 8 -- In honor of National Javelin Day, the GDC Billawar organised a javelin throw competition among students of different semesters on 7th August 2025. The event was organized to celebrate Neeraj Chopra's victory at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, the event sought to encourage youth involvement in javelin throw and identify new talent. 20 boys and girls enthusiastically took part in the competition.
In the boys' category, Deepak Gupta semester I achieved first place with a throw measuring 23.70 meters, followed by Sajid Hussain semester V at 20.60 meters and Varun Singh at 18.20 meters.
