JAMMU, Oct. 6 -- Dr. Pankaj Biswas, Assistant Professor at the School of Physics, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, presented his research on "Optical Characterization and Upconversion Luminescence in KSrVO 4 :Er 3+" at the international conference POLY-CHAR 2025, recently held at theUniversity of Mauritius. His presentation focused on developing nanocomposite films of the KSrVO 4 :Er 3+ phosphor embedded in PMMA and PVP polymers for solar cell applications. These luminescent up-shifting layers, applied to the rear of solar cells, enhance efficiency by converting near-infrared photons into usable light-a key strategy for improving silicon-based solar devices.
