Reasi, July 30 -- Continuing its drive against the use and sale of banned materials, District Police Reasi today arrested one person for possessing and selling banned Gattu thread in Katra town.
Acting on a specific input, a Police Party from Police Station Katra apprehended Satish Kumar S/O Prem Chand R/O Matyal, Katra and recovered a quantity of banned Gattu thread from his shop located at Hospital Road, Katra.
The banned thread, commonly used in kite flying, poses a serious threat to both humans and animals due to its non-biodegradable and hazardous nature. Its sale and use have been strictly prohibited by the authorities.
