KARGIL, Oct. 25 -- The Department of Biotechnology, Government Degree College (GDC) Kargil, organised a two-day hands-on training programme and workshop on Basic Plant Tissue Culture Techniques on October 23 and 24, 2026, under the DBT Star College Scheme. The programme aimed to enhance students' understanding of plant tissue culture and provide practical exposure to its applications in biotechnology, plant propagation and research.
The inaugural session was graced by Principal GDC Kargil, Dr. Amjad Ali, as the Chief Guest. Dr. Vishal Sharma, Scientist-C, CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology (IHBT), Palampur, served as the technical expert and resource person.
