KATHUA, Oct. 24 -- Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, today chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review arrangements for the safe and smooth celebration of Diwali across the district.
It was informed during the meeting that a multi-departmental committee would be constituted to conduct market inspections, check the rates and quality of food items and prevent food adulteration. The DC also directed the Fire and Emergency Services Department to conduct a comprehensive fire safety audit of firecracker vendors to ensure strict compliance with prescribed safety norms and rule out any lapses.
