JAMMU, Aug. 4 -- Renowned human rights activist Om Parkash Khajuria on Tuesday criticized the Union Government over what he described as the "forced thrusting" of E20 petrol on consumers, asserting that citizens should have the freedom to choose the type of fuel best suited for their vehicles.

In a statement issued here, Khajuria said that while the promotion of cleaner and greener fuels is a commendable objective, it should not come at the cost of consumer choice and convenience. He maintained that democratic governance requires policies that empower citizens with options rather than compelling them to accept a single alternative.
