JAMMU, April 18 -- BJP J&K UT Vice President Rekha Mahajan strongly criticized Opposition parties after the Constitution Amendment Bill on women's reservation failed to pass in the Lok Sabha.

In a sharp statement, Mahajan termed the opposition's stand as "anti-women and regressive," accusing them of deliberately blocking a historic reform aimed at ensuring greater political representation for women.

She said the bill reflected the commitment of the BJP-led government toward empowering women and strengthening inclusive democracy.

Mahajan emphasized that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, women's empowerment has been a top priority, with several landmark initiatives introduced to uplift women socially, economically, and politically.
