SRINAGAR, July 1 -- House Listing Operations (HLO), constituting the first phase of Census 2027, was successfully completed across the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh after a month-long field exercise conducted from 1st June to 30th June, 2026. Shri Amit Sharma, IAS, Chief Principal Census Officer (CPCO) and Director Census Operations (DCO), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, informed that the entire operation was carried out 100% through digital means, marking another significant milestone in India's first Census to be conducted using end-to-end digital technology.
