NEW DELHI, July 8 -- Two Postal Department employees have been arrested by the CBI for allegedly siphoning off around Rs 1.3 crore from the post office savings accounts of 44 customers in Mysore by misusing their login credentials, officials said on Wednesday.

They allegedly transferred funds into their own accounts and those of their relatives.

The accused, a postal assistant and a postman posted at Saragur in Mysore, were arrested by the CBI's Bengaluru unit in connection with the alleged fraud, an official statement said.
