SRINAGAR, Aug. 23 -- The Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Anantnag, Ms Masarat Roohi, has convicted Habibullah Kumar, a Junior Assistant in the Rural Development Department, in a trap case and sentenced him to two years of simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 21,000.
Judgment of the case, with FIR No 25/2009, was delivered today and was registered by the then Vigilance Organization Kashmir (now ACB) on September 10, 2009, following a complaint from Bashir Ahmad Dar, a helper in the Block Development Office, Larkipora.
The complainant alleged that after he and five other helpers were given promotions, Habibullah Kumar, the in-charge of establishment, demanded a bribe of Rs 1,800 to prepare their arrear bills.
