JAMMU, Oct. 16 -- Doctors at the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Jammu, successfully performed a Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) procedure on a patient suffering from Trigeminal Neuralgia, a condition that causes severe, electric shock-like pain in the face.
The 67-year-old male patient from Kathua district had been enduring intense facial pain for several years. The pain was so severe that he was unable to eat properly or even wash his face. He presented to the Pain Clinic at AIIMS Jammu, where he was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia.
