JAMMU, Aug. 20 -- All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Vijaypur, Jammu, has achieved a major milestone in patient care with the successful conduct of its first Corneal Collagen Cross Linking (C3R) procedure, further strengthening its cornea super-speciality services.
A young girl from a remote area of Jammu, diagnosed with Keratoconus, underwent this life-changing procedure. Keratoconus is a rare, progressive eye disorder in which the cornea-the clear front layer of the eye-thins out, leading to distorted vision and, if untreated, may result in permanent visual impairment.
