KATRA, Sept. 12 -- A 14-year-old girl suffering from increasing breathlessness was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect during a paediatric cardiac camp organised by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality Hospital at GMC Udhampur.

Doctors identified Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection (TAPVC), a condition in which the veins carrying oxygen-rich blood from the lungs do not connect normally to the heart. The patient had earlier consulted multiple doctors and was awaiting treatment at PGI Chandigarh.
