India, April 27 -- India's data centre story has moved well past the stage of promising projections. Total IT load capacity reached about 1.4 GW as of mid 2025, with another 1.4 GW under construction and more than 32 billion dollars in additional investments announced over the past two years. Capacity additions in 2025 alone surged 103% year-on-year, and the market is projected to triple to more than 4 GW of IT capacity by 2030. Projections suggest India could be operating close to 9 GW of installed capacity. For enterprise technology leaders, the more important question is what this infrastructure wave means in practical terms, beyond the headline numbers.
