India, Oct. 6 -- The smartphone processor race is entering a new phase where performance is no longer just about faster cores or better graphics. At its Tech Day in Delhi, MediaTek unveiled the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, putting 2nm processing, on-device AI and power efficiency at the centre of its flagship strategy.

The chipset is also designed around what MediaTek calls a Native AI architecture. That points to a broader shift in how flagship smartphones may compete, with on-device intelligence becoming as important as traditional hardware specifications.
