India, Oct. 23 -- A cancelled flight, a missed connection or a delayed refund can leave travellers searching for help in a hurry. Scammers are using that urgency to push fake customer support numbers through search engines, social media and AI-generated answers.

A Check Point Exposure Management investigation found a campaign impersonating more than 20 travel brands, including airlines, travel agencies and transport companies. The operation relies on fraudulent PDFs and online posts that promote fake support and refund numbers.

The bigger concern is how these details gain trust. Some of the documents were hosted on university and government websites, allowing false information to appear under established domain names.
