India, Sept. 19 -- Nearly nine in ten large organisations now use generative AI somewhere in the business. Ask how many can point to a real, measurable dent in profit because of it, and the number collapses to somewhere around six per cent. That gap- adoption everywhere, value almost nowhere- is the actual story of enterprise AI right now, and it's a far more useful story than another round of headlines about what the latest model can do.

Recent industry estimates put the failure rate of generative AI pilots at somewhere close to 95 percent, meaning the overwhelming majority never produce a verifiable return once you actually look at the numbers.
