India, May 29 -- India's data centre industry is entering a new phase where artificial intelligence is becoming the biggest growth driver. According to Avendus Capital's latest report, rising AI adoption could lead to the deployment of 650,000 to 700,000 GPUs across Indian data centres over the next five years, creating a USD 23 billion investment opportunity.

The report suggests that AI data centre capacity in India is no longer a future concept. It is quickly turning into core infrastructure for cloud computing, enterprise AI workloads, and digital services. India's total built data centre capacity is expected to grow from 1.6 GW in 2025 to nearly 5 GW by 2030, reflecting a strong 26% CAGR.
