India, March 26 -- A US jury has ruled that Instagram and YouTube have addictive design defects, awarding $6 million in damages in a landmark case.

Meta and Google were found liable, with Meta bearing 70 per cent responsibility.

This case, the first of its kind, could set a precedent for future lawsuits against social media platforms, likening it to big tobacco litigation.
