India, Feb. 14 -- The river laughed, its anklets softly ringing,

Flowing on and on, narrating the story of humankind

Painting a beautiful picture of the past,

It surged ahead as the guardian of an era.

Though it still flows without interruption today,

Its ancestral legacy no longer remains the same

Changing seasons and changing humans

Have jointly altered half of its course and destiny.

Before the pain of heatwaves could strike,

We rushed to extract and consume it, intoxicated by greed

Now, struck by nature's destructive dance,

She grows weary, fades, and weakens.

Let every traveller on this earth declare:

The river is shade, the very root of life.

Let us protect it, ensuring compassion's flame never dies,
