India, June 19 -- VA Tech WABAG has won a major Design, Build and Operate (DBO) contract from Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water & Renewable Energy for the Doha Stage-II Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) Desalination Plant. The project marks WABAG's first-ever venture in Kuwait and strengthens its presence across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
The project will be executed through a joint venture led by WABAG in partnership with Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Company (HEISCO). It involves the design, construction and commissioning of a 60 MIGD (around 272 MLD) desalination facility equipped with an advanced recarbonation system.
