India, Nov. 7 -- Vedanta Resources Ltd has announced the launch of CopperTech Metals Inc, a US-based company established to advance the group's infrastructure and clean energy goals.
The newly formed entity will own and operate Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) in Zambia. Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Director at Vedanta Ltd and Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc Ltd, will serve as Chairperson of CopperTech Metals.
According to Vedanta, CopperTech Metals will build on the group's existing USD 3 billion investment in KCM with an additional USD 1.5 billion expansion program aimed at boosting production and efficiency through AI-driven exploration and extraction technologies.
