India, Aug. 6 -- Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Ltd. (SDHI) has secured a contract from Denmark-based Svitzer A/S to build four advanced TRAnsverse 3200 harbour tugs, with deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2028.
The order was awarded after a competitive evaluation involving leading global shipyards. The vessels will be built at SDHI's Pipavav shipyard in Gujarat and classified under Bureau Veritas standards.
Co-developed by Robert Allan Ltd. and Svitzer, the patented TRAnsverse 3200 design is intended for complex harbour towage and escort operations.
