India, Sept. 2 -- Suzlon Energy on Tuesday announced that its indigenously developed S144 wind turbine has achieved the lowest product carbon footprint of 6.17 gCO2 per kilowatt-hour of electricity generated.

The certification was independently verified by Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS), the company said in a statement.

"With the S144, we demonstrate that world-class clean energy solutions can be designed and manufactured sustainably in India," Suzlon added.
