India, Feb. 9 -- Silver prices jumped more than 6 per cent to Rs 2.72 lakh per kilogram in the national capital on Monday, while gold rose nearly 1 per cent to Rs 1.58 lakh per 10 grams, supported by firm global cues and a weaker US dollar.

According to market participants, silver rallied Rs 17,000, or 6.66 per cent, to Rs 2,72,000 per kg (inclusive of all taxes), from Friday's closing level of Rs 2,55,000 per kg.

Gold of 99.9 per cent purity also strengthened, gaining Rs 1,300, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 1,58,500 per 10 grams (inclusive of all taxes), compared with the previous close of Rs 1,57,200 per 10 grams.
