India, Aug. 31 -- Silver futures fell Rs 1,955, or 0.81%, to Rs 2,40,489 per kg on Monday, as market participants reduced their positions amid selling pressure.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for December delivery traded at Rs 2,40,489 per kg, with 2,004 lots changing hands.

Analysts attributed the decline to selling by market participants and a reduction in bets, which weighed on silver prices in the futures market.
