India, Sept. 22 -- Silver futures extended their decline for the second consecutive session on Tuesday, falling Rs 1,743, or nearly 1 per cent, to Rs 2,37,574 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).

The decline was driven by expectations that the US Federal Reserve may keep interest rates higher for longer, weighing on sentiment toward the precious metal.

MCX silver futures for December delivery fell to Rs 2,37,574 per kg as investors remained cautious amid the interest-rate outlook.

According to Renisha Chainani, Chief Research Officer at Augmont, silver futures are struggling to gain fresh momentum as expectations of prolonged higher interest rates continue to weigh on market sentiment.
