India, June 5 -- Silver prices witnessed sharp selling pressure on Friday, with futures contracts falling by Rs 5,811, or 2.19%, to Rs 2,58,985 per kg as traders reduced their positions.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for July delivery declined amid a business turnover of 3,503 lots.

According to market analysts, the decline was primarily driven by profit booking and a reduction in bullish bets by market participants, leading to a broad-based sell-off in silver futures.
