India, July 2 -- Silver prices rose 0.53% in futures trade on Thursday, supported by positive global trends and fresh buying by market participants.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), silver contracts for September delivery gained Rs 1,219, or 0.53%, to Rs 2,31,603 per kilogram, with a business turnover of 1,325 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in silver prices to fresh position-building by traders amid firm global market sentiment.
