India, Sept. 9 -- The premature redemption price for Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2020-21 Series XII has been fixed at Rs 15,355 per unit, with redemption due on September 9, 2026.
The tranche, issued on March 9, 2021, became eligible for premature redemption after completing five years from the issue date. The redemption price is based on the simple average of the closing price of 999-purity gold for the three preceding business days, as published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA).
The price of Rs 15,355 per unit has been calculated using gold closing prices for September 4, 7 and 8, 2026.
