India, Aug. 14 -- The rupee gained 3 paise to close at 95.42 (provisional) against the US dollar on Friday, supported by weakness in the greenback against major global currencies.
However, the domestic currency remained under pressure due to continued foreign fund outflows and elevated crude oil prices amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, forex traders said.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 95.39 and moved in a narrow range of 95.38–95.44 during the session before settling at 95.42, up 3 paise from its previous close.
