India, Sept. 7 -- The Indian rupee strengthened 4 paise to 94.39 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday, supported by strong FCNR-related dollar inflows, though gains were limited by elevated crude oil prices and persistent global headwinds.
Forex traders said robust liquidity continues to provide support to the rupee. However, renewed military strikes have pushed Brent crude prices closer to $97 a barrel, raising concerns over potential disruptions to energy supplies from the Middle East.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 94.40 per US dollar before touching 94.39, marking a 4-paise gain from its previous close.
