India, Sept. 30 -- The rupee strengthened 13 paise to end at 95.81 (provisional) against the US dollar on Wednesday, supported by a retreat in crude oil prices and a decline in the US Dollar Index.
Easing US Treasury yields, which had risen to multi-decade highs, also provided support to the domestic currency. However, weakness in domestic equity markets limited the rupee's gains.
The rupee opened at 95.87 and moved to an intraday low of 95.98 before recovering to close at 95.81, up 13 paise from its previous close.
