India, Feb. 11 -- The rupee depreciated by 6 paise to 90.62 against the US dollar in early trade on Wednesday, weighed down by geopolitical tensions and sustained dollar demand from importers, which dampened investor sentiment.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic currency opened at 90.56 against the greenback before slipping to 90.62, marking a decline of 6 paise from its previous close. During the initial trading session, the rupee also touched a high of 90.46 against the American currency.
