India, Oct. 13 -- The Indian rupee slipped 5 paise to 88.77 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday, pressured by the strength of the American currency and a cautious global mood.
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at 88.75 and edged lower to 88.77, hovering close to its all-time closing low.
According to forex traders, the RBI is closely monitoring the USDINR movement as it approaches the 88.80 level.
