India, March 13 -- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a pilot 'Awareness Program on Digital Payments' as part of the sixth edition of Digital Payments Awareness Week (DPAW) being observed from March 9–13, 2026.
The program was launched by Sanjay Malhotra, who emphasised the importance of maintaining trust and security in digital payments while highlighting the central bank's continued focus on customer awareness and protection.
The pilot initiative will be conducted in Maharashtra in partnership with CSC e-Governance Services India Limited. It aims to reach around 10 lakh participants in rural and semi-urban areas through in-person awareness sessions conducted by Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs).
