India, Oct. 3 -- In a landmark step towards strengthening social security for the informal workforce, the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), in collaboration with GoaMiles and HDFC Pension Fund, launched the National Pension System (NPS) for Goa's driver community on 30th September 2025 in Panjim, in the presence of Goa's Transport Minister, Shri Mauvin Godinho.

The initiative will extend pension coverage to nearly 5,000 GoaMiles drivers, offering them structured retirement planning. At the event, 50 Permanent Retirement Account Numbers (PRANs) were distributed to drivers, symbolizing the start of the scheme. GoaMiles has committed to contribute to each NPS account of its mobility partners.
