India, Sept. 25 -- Indian Railways has approved a Rs 166.5-crore project to construct a four-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Alkapuri in Vadodara Division of Western Railway. The project will be implemented on a cost-sharing basis with the Gujarat Government, with both sides contributing approximately Rs 83.28 crore each.
The new ROB is planned to address limitations of the existing Alkapuri Road Under Bridge (RUB) near Vadodara Railway Station, which provides a key east-west connection between the Alkapuri and Kalaghoda areas.
