India, Aug. 12 -- Indian Railways has approved the construction of a four-lane Road Over Bridge (ROB) at Level Crossing No. 305 on the Geratpur-Ahmedabad section of Western Railway at an estimated cost of Rs 153 crore.

The project includes a 106-metre railway bridge comprising two 53-metre composite girders, along with a 150-metre viaduct and a 595-metre railway approach.

The new ROB will enable uninterrupted movement of road traffic, eliminate waiting at the level crossing and reduce congestion, improving safety and travel time for commuters in the densely populated area.

The project is part of Western Railway's broader programme to construct and upgrade road overbridges, underbridges and other railway infrastructure.
