India, July 28 -- India's toy exports have increased by 89.1%, while toy imports have declined by 37.5%, reflecting the strong growth of domestic manufacturing and the country's emergence as a net exporter of toys.

The government attributed the sector's growth to a series of policy measures aimed at improving quality, promoting local manufacturing, and boosting exports. These include the implementation of the National Action Plan for Toys (NAPT), higher import duties on toys, the Quality Control Order (QCO) for toys, support for toy clusters, and incentives under the Startup India and RoDTEP schemes.
