India, June 17 -- India's defence production reached an all-time high of Rs 1.78 lakh crore in FY 2025-26, registering a growth of 15.6% over Rs 1.54 lakh crore recorded in the previous fiscal year.
The achievement marks a 110% increase from FY 2020-21, when defence production stood at Rs 84,643 crore, and nearly four times the level of Rs 43,746 crore reported in FY 2013-14. Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and other public sector entities contributed around 76% of the total output, while the private sector accounted for 24%, its highest-ever share, contributing approximately Rs 42,000 crore.
