India, Jan. 13 -- Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) on Tuesday announced its entry into Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, with the signing of a 100-key greenfield Ginger hotel.

Commenting on the development, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate and Development at IHCL, said Tuticorin is fast emerging as an important economic hub in South India, supported by a strong industrial base and fresh investments.

She added that the growth of large projects in the automobile and energy sectors has led to rising long-stay demand, making the city a suitable market for the Ginger brand. IHCL has partnered with R Gajendran for the development of the hotel.
